Hockey Camps and Clinics
To compliment our various hockey programs, the Huskies offer hockey camps and clinics throughout the year to allow players from within and outside the Huskies family to improve their skills in a more specialized environment. Programs include Defenseman Clinics, Certified Checking Clinics (Peewee and older) and summer camps. Programs are designed and coordinated by the Hockey Directors of the Huskies Hockey Club and are staffed with these directors as well as coaches and older players from within the organization.

CHECKING CLINIC
Learning the proper techniques of checking is an art and for some players it can take a lifetime to master. Some advertised clinics will want you to believe that enrolling your child in their two hour clinic will get your child ready for that "first hit", but none will provide them with the extensive training offered by our Rocky Hockey Checking Clinics.
Rocky Saganiuk has been conducting checking clinics in the Chicago area for ten years and has been recognized by the Northern Illinois Hockey League (NIHL), the Amatuer Hockey Association of Illinois (AHAI) and USA Hockey officials as conducting the best overall instruction in checking clinics. He believes in starting the development of players as young as Mite A-2 and has seen hundreds of Mites and Squirts benefit through the knowledge gained on body control and positioning to help accelerate their playing abilities as they move into their Peewee, Bantam and more advanced levels of hockey.
Each season sees the advancement of many Squirts to the Peewee division starting with the spring season. In accordance with NIHL rules, these players "graduating" to the Peewee level will have to show proof of having participated in a Checking Clinic which is recognized by NIHL as a quality clinic which will certify that these players have been through a checking program. The "Rocky Hockey" Checking Clinics will be valuable for players moving into their first year of Peewee hockey who have not yet participated in a checking clinic. The clinic has also proven to one of the best re-enforcement clinics for 2nd year Peewee players who just want a refresher course and a worthwhile experience for 2nd year squirts who want early exposure to giving and receiving physical contact.
Clinics are offered every spring and fall, so watch for clinic dates and registration information.
