The Huskies Hockey Club is excited to provide opportunities for families to earn rebates off their Fall 2023-2024 fees. You can choose to participate in one option or all options, that’s up to you. The more you participate, the more you reduce fees and add to the team funds (and therefore reduce the required DSA). More opportunities may become available during the season, for both Player and Team fundraising. As options arise, information will be communicated via email and social media.

Families can reduce their fees for the upcoming season, by making prize donations.

Silent Auction
Donate a silent auction item and your family will receive an 80/20 split of the highest bid. 80% of the highest bid would go towards your players’ fees. Credit will be taken from your last fee payment or by a rebate check in February 2024 (electronic tickets need to be verified that they have been transferred). The minimum bid is $100 so items would need to be valued at $100 or more - donors can set the minimum bid. Examples of Silent auction items would be Sports tickets, Sports memorabilia, Dinner packages, etc.

Raffle Baskets
Donate a Raffle Basket and your family will receive a rebate credit off your fall fees of $60 (taken off your last payment or receive a $60 rebate check in February 2024). Raffle baskets need to be valued at $100 or more. An example of a basket would include a $50 gift card plus, 3 bottles of wine and wine glasses. Raffle basket tickets will be available for purchase at the event (10 tickets for $10, or 25 tickets for $20).

Team-Based Fundraising OpportunitiesĀ

With the extra costs that come with the Hockey season (tournaments, coach’s rooms, extra games, team party, etc.), team managers will be in charge of coordinating a team fundraiser with the Huskies fundraising chairperson. These fundraising opportunities are to be used, as a team, to reduce significant team costs. It is encouraged that there is 100% participation from each team as all funds raised benefit the whole team, not just the active participants. All team fundraisers are to be approved by the board. Bears Squares is one of the most popular team fundraisers each season:

Bears Squares

Earn $500 to $5000 for the team DSA (discretionary spending account) by selling 100 squares (costs per square $5 – $100). Squares are then randomly associated with the scores from the Bears games and winners are paid out. Usually, run payout as a 50/50 split- 50% of funds to the team / 50% of funds are payouts.

Raffle

Each player will receive 25 raffle tickets for the season. Families will then have the option to sell the raffle tickets for $10 each in order to recoup $250 of their season fees, or retain their tickets and enter into the raffle on their own behalf to potentially win larger prizes.

Prizes include:

  • One $5,000 winner
  • Two $1,500 winners
  • Four $500 winners

*Raffle winners will be drawn at the November Board Meeting
