Welcome to the Rink Updates page.....

Here you will find what is being done and what is still in process at the rink to keep you informed.

As of 1/9/12....

*  new complete re-keying of the building is done. Party rooms and weight rooms are now locked and treated like locker rooms. Anyone wishing to use them must get a key (trade car keys) from the CSR and the rooms must be left as they were and inspected by a driver before the car keys are returned.

*  all exterior side fire exits will now be alarmed. The alarms are in, but we are waiting on the key cylinders which could take up to 2 weeks, because once we get them they will go on and then any time one of those exterior doors is opened the alarm will sound and will also sound a notification up here at our surveillance system. Any time the doors are needed to be opened we can open them up for deliveries or special events, you would just have to come to the front desk.

*  locker room shower tiling: rooms 1&2 and 3&4 are done, currently moved to rink 2. Each shower takes 2 weeks to complete, so looking to complete remaining ones within 2 months.

*  new building alarm system is installed and beginning tonight will be activated nightly. This should not really affect any customers.

*  office renovation: will be complete within 2-3 weeks

*  Mezzanine viewing areas: looking at possibilities for use of those spaces in 2012. Ideas include viewing area/restaurant, fitness center, and some other tenant options. The process is just getting started, so nothing will get done right away but down the road we do have plans for those areas.

 As of 11/9/11....

*  Outdoor building painting, touch up of current colors and around new Canlan signage – in process

*  New water filtration system, will greatly improve the quality of ice – in process

*  New office construction and layout – starting this month

*  New alarm system and surveillance systems – to be completed and installed by 12/1

*  Reconstruction of parking lot, including resurfacing and line painting to be completed soon. 

 As of 10/3/11....

* The Thirsty Penguin is now open.  The liquor license is in process now.

* Interior Signage is completed.

* New locker room lighting install is 75% complete.

* New Arena Lighting:  Rink 1 will be completed this week.  Rinks 2 & 3 will be completed next week.

* Some seating has been installed and there is more to come over the next week.

As of 9/22/11....

* The Thirsty Penguin Concession Stand is now open, limited menu at first and will expand over the next couple of weeks.

* Interior Canlan Signage has been printed and the sign company will be installing the new signs on Friday 9/23 & Monday 9/26.

* Exterior Canlan Signage is still in the permit process.

* Lobby Seating was purchased this week and includes high top tables and benches.  It will be arriving in 2-3 weeks for install.

* Locker Room lighting; complete re-wiring and installation of brand new fixtures in ALL locker rooms began this past Monday. This includes motion sensor light switches in each room

* New Arena lighting; rink light fixtures will be arriving on Monday 9/26 and installation will be an ongoing process over the next 1-2 months.

* Vending; Coke will be the rink beverage vendor and all the machines will be arriving on 9/28.  Will begin selling Coke product on 9/29. Two brand new snack machines will be delivered within 10 days for the lobby as well as an overhaul of our current “game center” in the lobby.

* Front Office/Skate Rental Renovation; currently in quoting process.
