Huskies Hockey Club

Mike played for numerous youth clubs while growing up in Flossmoor, IL, a southern suburb of Chicago.  As a Mite and a Squirt he played for the Homewood/Flossmoor Cardinals from 1979-1983.  As a Pee Wee, he moved to the Chicago Hawks for the 1983-1984 season and was part of their State Championship team.  The next year he returned to the Homewood/Flossmoor Cardinals for his first year as a Bantam in 1985.  In his final year of Bantam in 1986 he played for the Deerfield Falcons. In high school, Mike played for Mount Carmel High School’s Varsity team for three years and collected two State Championships and three Kennedy Cups.  During his final year at MCHS, Mike was selected as a High School All-State Selection, received the Catholic League Top Goaltender award and was the Catholic League MVP Selection Runner-Up.  During his second year playing for MCHS he also played for the Chicago Hawks.  After graduation he began his junior career in 1989 playing for the Chicago Young Americans Junior A team and that same season moved onto the California Lytes Rustlers Junior A team.

After his playing career was done, Mike started his coaching career with the Huskies Hockey Club in 2004.  He has held various positions within the Huskies organization, mainly as Head Coach for the Bantam level teams.  As a coach with the Huskies, Mike has brought many championship banners into IIC.  In 2005, his team was the Silver Stick Regional Champions.  In 2007, Mike added Goalie Director to his list of responsibilities working toward his current role of Hockey Director.  His Bantam team won the CSDHL Championship in 2008.  In addition, the 2008 and 2009 Bantam teams won back-to-back State Championships and most recently, placed 3^rd at the USA U14 Nationals in New Jersey in the spring of 2010.  

Mike is single and currently resides in Plainfield, IL.
